Overview
In connection with the ongoing JCAR project (joint cooperation between Egypt and the Netherlands for applied research) and the activities of the research project (Performance Enhancement of Pump Stations for Irrigation and Drainage (PEPSI)), a field visit has been conducted to El-Kalaa Drainage Station in Alexandria. This visit provided valuable insights into effective station categorization and management practices, emphasizing the importance of optimizing pump system performance.
El-Kalaa Drainage Station plays a critical role in regulating water levels with the station's efficient water redirection and robust pumping capabilities, ensuring optimal drainage and safeguarding the community against water-related incidents.
The field visit effectively bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation, affording participants the opportunity to witness firsthand the real-world application of concepts deliberated during the workshop. The observations gleaned from this visit will significantly enhance the ongoing research project's findings and facilitate the formulation of pertinent recommendations.
