Overview
Within the framework of the JCAR project for the Safe Coasts research activity, the on-job training at Deltares in Delft, the Netherlands, was executed from January 30 to February 10, 2023.
12 participants from the shore Protection Authority and coastal and Hydraulics Research Institutes in Egypt were trained. The training provided a unique combination of theoretical and practical knowledge from experts in their respective fields. The participants also had access to state-of-the-art technology and equipment that allowed them to get hands-on experience with the latest tools and techniques.
The learning objective of this on-job training is to develop the first version of a regional hydrodynamic and wave model for the North Coast of Egypt's Mediterranean Sea. All participants worked individually with the support of an experienced instructor. The instructor provided guidance and feedback throughout the entire process, helping participants to better understand the concepts being taught and apply them in their own work.
