Overview

As part of the A4I project, and in collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Egypt, a workshop was held to explore public-private partnerships for infrastructure and local water management while sharing research and development insights. The workshop emphasized the need for visibility on policy development for companies involved.

A key focus was on land consolidation, viewed as essential for improving local communities, with an emphasis on engaging large companies to help shape land and water policies that benefit smallholder farms and promote sustainable water use.

Additionally, the workshop highlighted the importance of supporting the agricultural sector by fostering an enabling environment rather than presenting restrictive market options. In conclusion, the event stressed the critical role of public-private partnerships in achieving sustainable infrastructure and water management.

By concentrating on land consolidation and involving major companies in policy development, it underscored the need for a supportive framework that benefits both smallholder farmers and the wider agricultural sector, encouraging sustainability without limiting market flexibility.
